I have this old piece and am trying to figure out what it is.
When it's closed up, it looks like a shipping container of sorts. There's the name "Spiegel" painted across the front, and on the sides there's some other text. It looks like an address.
The container unfolds. The doors fold out to the sides and are covered with some a veneer that makes it look like a finished piece. There's another top section that unfolds and sits on top of the piece. It looks kind of like a crown molding.
Below are some photos and a video demonstrating how it opens and transforms from shipping container to a cabinet.

The video shows the cabinet folded and unfolded.
I think that it was some sort of sales cabinet used to ship and display merchandise. But that's just a guess. Anyone ideas what it is?
